Orthopedist (अस्थि रोग विशेषज्ञ)

Orthopedist is a medical specialist focused on diagnosing, treating, rehabilitating, and preventing injuries and diseases of the musculoskeletal system, which includes bones, joints, ligaments, tendons, muscles, and nerves. They treat conditions ranging from sports injuries and fractures to chronic arthritis and back pain using both surgical and non-surgical methods.  

ऑर्थोपेडिस्ट (अस्थि रोग विशेषज्ञ) एक चिकित्सा विशेषज्ञ होते हैं जो मस्क्युलोस्केलेटल सिस्टम यानी हड्डियों, जोड़ों, लिगामेंट, टेंडन, मांसपेशियों और नसों से संबंधित चोटों एवं रोगों का निदान, उपचार, पुनर्वास और रोकथाम करते हैं।

वे खेल से जुड़ी चोटों, हड्डी टूटना (फ्रैक्चर), गठिया (आर्थराइटिस), कमर दर्द तथा अन्य हड्डी-जोड़ संबंधी समस्याओं का इलाज सर्जरी और बिना सर्जरी (दवाइयों, फिजियोथेरेपी आदि) दोनों तरीकों से करते हैं।
