Under its ongoing Drug De-addiction and Awareness Campaign, Buxar Medical City Foundation organised a meaningful public awareness programme today in front of the Model Police Station premises, Buxar. The initiative aimed to strengthen community awareness against substance abuse and encourage citizens to adopt a drug-free and healthy lifestyle.

The programme was graced by the presence of Mr. Manoj Kumar Singh, Station House Officer, Buxar, as the Chief Guest. The event witnessed active participation from local residents, youth, social workers, representatives of the police administration, media personnel, and dedicated volunteers of the Foundation.

The programme began with a brief interactive discussion highlighting the physical, mental, social, and legal consequences of drug abuse. This was followed by a collective pledge taken by all participants to stay away from intoxicants and to motivate others to do the same. As a symbolic gesture of hope and commitment, green balloons were released into the sky, conveying the powerful message that a drug-free society is the foundation of healthy families, a secure future, and a strong nation.

Addressing the gathering, Chief Guest Mr. Manoj Kumar Singh emphasized that substance abuse has become a major cause of crime, road accidents, and social disorder. He stressed that combating drug addiction is not the responsibility of law enforcement alone, but requires the collective involvement of every section of society. He appreciated the Foundation’s initiative and described such awareness programmes as the need of the hour.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Ram Narayan, Director of Buxar Medical City Foundation, stated that drug addiction does not affect only an individual but deeply impacts families and society as a whole. He underlined the importance of continuous public awareness, education, and social dialogue to effectively address this issue. He also informed that the Foundation will continue organizing similar programmes in schools, colleges, and public spaces in the future.

Participants of the programme reaffirmed their commitment to remain drug-free and to spread awareness within their communities. Media representatives present at the event appreciated the social relevance and positive impact of the initiative.

The Foundation further announced that as part of the ongoing campaign, a Drug Awareness Quiz Competition for female students will be organised on 15 January 2026 at Chanakya Academy Women’s College, Sarenja, Buxar, with the objective of sensitising young women about the harmful effects of drugs and encouraging their active role in building a drug-free society.

The programme was successfully conducted with the support of Mr. Ram Narayan (Director), Pankaj Manasinhka, Mr. Rama Shankar Singh (Secretary, Ujjwal Mahila Vikas Kendra), Mr. Shravan Tiwari (Secretary, Red Cross), Rahul Jaiswal, Shubham Kumar, Vinod Kumar, Pintu Singhania, and several other respected citizens.
