Substance abuse has emerged as one of the most serious social challenges affecting individuals, families, and communities across the country. Recognizing the urgent need to address this issue at the grassroots level, Buxar Medical City Foundation has launched a comprehensive public awareness initiative titled “Nasha Mukti Abhiyan” with the aim of promoting a healthy, drug-free, and responsible society.
The campaign was formally inaugurated with the release of an awareness poster, marking the beginning of a series of community-oriented programmes designed to educate, engage, and empower citizens against the harmful effects of addiction. Speaking on the occasion, representatives of the Foundation emphasized that substance abuse not only damages physical health but also severely impacts mental well-being, family harmony, and social stability. Therefore, sustained awareness and collective participation are essential to combat this menace effectively.
As part of the campaign, the Foundation has planned a sequence of impactful activities to reach people from all walks of life. On 28 December 2025, a street awareness programme will be conducted using banners and pamphlets to directly engage the public and spread key messages on prevention and de-addiction. This will be followed by a rangoli competition with anti-drug themes on 02 January 2026 at Qila Maidan, Buxar, encouraging creative expression and active participation from students and youth.
To further reinforce the message of de-addiction in a symbolic and positive manner, green ribbons and balloons will be distributed near the Model Police Station on 04 January 2026. Understanding the importance of intellectual engagement, the Foundation will organize a mini quiz competition on 15 January 2026 at Chanakya Academy, Mahila College, Sarenja, aimed at enhancing awareness through knowledge-based interaction among young participants.
The campaign will also utilize traditional and effective communication tools. A street play (nukkad natak) conveying strong anti-drug messages will be staged on 17 January 2026, highlighting real-life consequences of addiction in a relatable and impactful manner. On 20 January 2026, a public pledge board will be installed near the Collectorate, allowing citizens to voluntarily pledge their commitment to staying away from drugs and supporting a substance-free environment. In the concluding phase, a poster awareness drive will be carried out on 22 January 2026 at major public places across the city to reinforce the campaign’s message.
Through this initiative, Buxar Medical City Foundation calls upon citizens, youth, educational institutions, social organizations, and the media to actively participate in the Nasha Mukti Abhiyan. The Foundation firmly believes that a drug-free society can only be achieved through collective responsibility, continuous education, and compassionate support for those affected by addiction.
With consistent efforts and community involvement, this campaign aspires to contribute meaningfully toward building a healthier, safer, and more empowered society.
