Community Awareness Campaign by Buxar Medical City Foundation
Substance abuse has emerged as one of the most serious social and public health challenges of our time. It not only harms the physical and mental well-being of individuals but also adversely affects families, communities, and the future of society as a whole. With this concern at its core, Buxar Medical City Foundation is launching a comprehensive community awareness campaign aimed at promoting de-addiction, prevention, early identification, and rehabilitation.
The campaign will formally commence on 25 December 2025 with the release of an awareness poster carrying a strong message on drug-free living along with the Foundation’s dedicated helpline number. The campaign will continue through the month of January with a series of structured and participatory activities designed to reach every section of society with a direct and impactful message.
As part of the initiative, a street awareness activity using banners and pamphlets will be organized on 27 December, focusing on educating the general public about the harmful effects of substance abuse and the importance of seeking timely help. This will be followed by a rangoli competition with anti-drug messages on 02 January 2026 at Kila Maidan, Buxar, encouraging creative participation from youth and citizens alike.
On 03 January, green ribbons and balloons will be distributed to symbolize hope, renewal, and commitment towards a drug-free life. Keeping youth engagement at the forefront, a mini quiz programme will be organized on 15 January to spread awareness through knowledge-based interaction.
Further strengthening the campaign, an impactful street play (nukkad natak) will be staged on 16 January, depicting the realities of addiction, the path to recovery, and the positive journey of rehabilitation in a relatable and compelling manner. To enhance public participation, a public pledge board will be installed near Model Police Station on 20 January, where citizens can take a collective pledge to adopt a drug-free lifestyle. Subsequently, a wall poster campaign will be conducted on 21 January at prominent public locations across the city.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Ram Narayan, Director of Buxar Medical City Foundation, stated that substance abuse is a grave social and health issue that cannot be addressed through medical intervention alone. He emphasized that awareness, empathy, and collective community efforts are essential to bring sustainable change. He also appealed to the citizens of Buxar, educational institutions, business communities, and youth organizations to actively participate in the campaign and contribute towards building a healthy, responsible, and drug-free society.
This campaign by Buxar Medical City Foundation is not merely a series of events, but a collective movement towards social transformation—where informed citizens become the strongest force against substance abuse.
